QSSI Awarded Prime Contract from the U.S. Department of Transportation to Manage The TEAM (Transportation Electronic Award Management) System

Columbia, MD – March 07, 2005 –QSSI, a provider of IT solutions, announced today that it has been awarded a Prime Contract from the United States Department of Transportation (DOT) Federal Transit Administration (FTA). FTA awards over 9 Billion Dollars in Federal Grants annually. At the center of the FTA’s Grants Management mission is the Transportation Electronic Award Management (TEAM) Web Application.

Designed and built by the FTA’s Office of Information Technology and the Office of Program Management. The TEAM-Web System is a Project & Financial Management application that was designed and developed to fulfill government mandates for increased accessibility by the public to Federal Assistance Programs and the replacement of paper-laden processes with electronic processes.

The TEAM system is currently the only application of its kind to be Certified and Accredited within the Department of Transportation. It is also the only application within DOT to have been given a rating of “Effective” by the GAO, in a recent audit of applications throughout the Federal government. The TEAM application was created to replace the Main Frame-based Grant Management Information System (GMIS) application. GMIS worked primarily as a storage system for Federal Assistance related data, most of the data entry of which was performed by the FTA staff. The purpose of this contract is to provide:

Operation, maintenance, and enhancements for the TEAM-Web application.
This type of support includes maintaining data archives, ensuring TEAM-Web system infrastructure security, operating a helpdesk/support center, providing user training, system and user manual documentation, providing disaster recovery and continuity of operations, leveraging newer technologies, providing business process, financial, and technical analysis and support in coordination with affiliated offices, agencies and other external contractors.
