IT Infrastructure Cabling Plan - Phase II
Columbia, MD – June 14, 2005 –QSSI, a provider of IT solutions, announced today that QSSI and its teaming partner Visionary Integration Professional, Inc. (VIP), has been awarded the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), Public and Indian Housing (PIH), Inventory Management System (IMS) contract. QSSI is a subcontract to VIP in this HUD PIH initiative.
The United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) is the Federal Agency responsible for providing resources for empowering local governments, businesses, and organizations to build stronger communities. The HUD’s, Office of Public and Indian Housing (PIH) provides rental subsidies to help low-income families that need financial assistance. The PIH provides the rental subsidies through two primary programs: the public housing program and the tenant-based Section 8 program. PIH allocates funding to locally chartered Public Housing Authorities (PHAs), which provide housing or rental subsidies to low-income families. The two rental assistance programs support the housing needs of approximately 3.2 million low-income families nationwide.
The objective of this project is to consolidate the maintenance and operation requirements of five independent PIH software systems applications and commercial off-the-shelf COTS packages under a single support contract while ensuring continued availability and reliability of service. QSSI and its prime contractor provide personnel, supplies, and equipment necessary to assist the PIH in accomplishing program goals and objectives.
Our team provides analytical and technical support to the PIH Office of Administration to plan, implement, and maintain each PIH system upgrade and releases of the system, including system/software life-cycle operations and maintenance.
