QSSI Receives GSA Approval for Providing HSPD-12 System Integration Services to Government Customers

QSSI joins a select list of government contractors that provide HSPD-12 services under GSA IT Schedule 70 SIN 132-62

"We are thrilled to receive approval of our HSPD-12 labor categories from GSA. We now have a convenient vehicle for our growing number of Government clients that need support on HSPD-12 programs to procure services off of an approved GSA IT Schedule 70 SIN 132-62. We would like to thank the GSA Smartcard solutions office and our GSA Contracting Officer for shepherding us through this process and helping us meet this key objective for the company", said Bikram Bakshi, CEO of QSSI.

"Our personnel have experience in implementing large identity management and biometric programs for Fortune 100 clients and large Government agencies. HSPD-12, and the supporting NIST FIPS-201 standard, is an area of particular expertise for us", said Mr. K. Ramaswamy (Ram), CTO of QSSI.

QSSI has developed demonstration showcases for its HSPD-12 and identity management solutions in its Herndon, VA and Baltimore, MD facilities. These showcases highlight end to end FIPS 201 compliant solutions, including integration with Physical and Logical Access Control Systems (PACS and LACS). Several NIST/GSA approved hardware and software products are prominently displayed as part of these demonstration showcases. Potential clients and partners are invited to QSSI to view and test these products.

About HSPD-12
On August 27, 2004, the President signed HSPD-12 “Policy for a Common Identification Standard for Federal Employees and Contractors” (the Directive). The Directive requires the development and agency implementation of a mandatory, government-wide standard for secure and reliable forms of identification for Federal employees and contractors. As required by the Directive, the Department of Commerce issued Federal Information Processing Standard 201 (the Standard). Inconsistent agency approaches to facility security and computer security are inefficient and costly, and increase risks to the Federal government. Successful implementation of the Directive and the Standard will increase the security of Federal facilities and information systems. As noted in the guidance issued with the directive, the FIPS 201 standard applies to employees and contractors who work at government facilities or have access to government information systems.
