Walker, HealthIT+TM Practice Director, was one of the presenters at the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI) 2011 Conference & Expo from June 25th to the 27th, in San Antonio, TX. AAMI, a nonprofit organization founded in 1967, is a unique alliance of nearly 6,000 members from around the world united by one mission — to increase the understanding and beneficial use of medical instrumentation.
June 02, 2011 - The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) announced that QSSI successfully completed the Electronic Submission of Medical Documentation (esMD) Health Information Handler (HIH) connectivity test. Since August 2010, QSSI has been building a healthcare solution for the transmission of Electronic Medical Records (EMRs) and Personally Identifiable Information (PII) securely over the National Health Information Network (NHIN). NHIN provides a secure, nationwide, interoperable health information infrastructure that will connect providers, consumers, and others involved in supporting health and healthcare.

February 17, 2011 - Maryland based QSSI announces the launch of HIPAA+™, a software-based solution which manages compliance with industry and Federal regulations like the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). HIPAA+™ provides a comprehensive assessment, implementation, training, and compliance monitoring approach across all aspects of HIPAA. February 11, 2011 - Maryland-based QSSI announces the award of a five-year Automated Edit Integration Contractor (AEIC) contract to support the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) to develop and implement a pre-payment automated edit solution.
January 20, 2011 - Maryland based QSSI, announced today that it has been recently awarded a prime contract from the Department of Health & Human Service (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) for the Center for Consumer Information and Insurance Oversight (CCIIO) to support various tasks related to requirements, architecture, design, and development of insurance exchanges as mandated by the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA). CCIIO is responsible for structuring communications networks and technology infrastructures that will both facilitate and regulate the delivery of healthcare insurance for select population groups.

December 17, 2010 - Maryland-based QSSI was recently awarded a prime contract by the Administrative Office of the United States Courts (AOUSC) to deliver an Homeland Security Presidential Directive 12 (HSPD-12) compliant ID card issuance system. QSSI will implement its Verify+™ Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS) 201 identity management solution and provide other hardware, software, and support services needed to replace AOUSC's current ID card issuance system. Using a phased approach, the AOUSC expects to add HSPD-12 compliant smart card capabilities to its infrastructure. Once issued, the Personal Identity Verification (PIV) cards will be able to support physical and logical access control to various agency assets.
November 29, 2010 - Maryland based QSSI was recently awarded a four-year prime contract with the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) to continue supporting the Recovery Audit Contractor Data Warehouse (RACDW) project. The RACDW is the repository for all claims reviewed within the Recovery Audit Program at CMS, as well as a critical CMS management tool for overseeing Recovery Audit Contractor (RAC) activity, tracking collections, and reimbursements. The RACDW is used by CMS to coordinate payment review activities, and is the principal means for the RACs to report improper payment findings to CMS. Since 2008, QSSI has provided key support to the RACDW project. QSSI migrated a legacy system to a secure hosting facility and supported a nationwide rollout and expansion of the Recovery Audit Program.
November 15, 2010 - Maryland based QSSI was recently awarded a contract in partnership with FEI Systems, Inc. (FEI) by the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid (CMS) to provide Business Intelligence (BI) support to the Medicare Contractor Management Group (MCMG). This five-year contract will support and maintain the CMS Contractor Management Information System (CMIS) and Production Performance Monitoring System (PULSE) computer systems.
October 20, 2010 - Maryland-based QSSI was awarded a contract from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) in partnership with ATS Corporation (ATSC) to support a new contract for the HUD Multifamily Housing Organization. Under this contract, ATSC will continue to provide application systems support for HUD's Integrated Real Estate Management System (iREMS). The ATSC team will perform project management tasks, provide corrective maintenance support for previously released application software, provide Development, Modernization and Enhancement (DME) support for evolving current business functionality, and ongoing training support.
September 30, 2010 - Maryland based QSSI was recently awarded a task order under the Integrated Data Repository (IDR) contract from the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). IDR provides data quality services to improve the accuracy of Medicare payment data. QSSI will develop the strategy to retire the National Claims History (NCH) file.
September 29, 2010 - Maryland-based QSSI announced that it is part of the team awarded a five-year contract from the Office of Research, Development, and Information (ORDI), Research Data Distribution Information Technology (IT) Services (RDIS) by the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). ORDI provides leadership in producing information and analysis to help shape current and future directions of CMS programs and related policy decisions. QSSI will support CORMAC Corporation with this effort.
September 24, 2010 - Maryland-based QSSI was recently awarded a prime contract by the U.S. Department of Education (DoEd) through its principal office of Federal Student Aid. The office of Federal Student Aid ensures that all eligible individuals benefit from Federally funded or Federally guaranteed financial assistance for education beyond high school. Federal Student Aid consistently champions the promise of postsecondary education and training to all Americans.
September 15, 2010 - Maryland-based QSSI has been awarded a prime contract by the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) to provide database administration in support of the Teradata Platforms Contract. QSSI will maintain the current Teradata environment at CMS, as well as support future program initiatives.
September 10, 2010 - Maryland-based QSSI was recently awarded additional task orders by the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) to provide ongoing support to the Healthcare Integrated General Ledger Accounting System (HIGLAS) Transition and Training contracts. As the incumbent contractor, QSSI has supported these critical initiatives since November 2006.

August 10, 2010 - Maryland-based Quality Software Services, Inc (QSSI) was awarded a prime contract by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) to provide an NHIN based mechanism for the Electronic Submission of Medical Documentation (esMD). The contract will adopt a 2-phase approach to exchange electronic medical documentation using the Nationwide Health Information Network (NHIN) CONNECT between Medicare Fee-For-Service (FFS) Review Contractors and healthcare providers. In Phase One, Medicare Review Contractors will continue to send paper requests to providers and upon request, the participating providers will electronically submit supporting medical documentation via NHIN. In Phase Two, both the request from the Medicare Review Contractors and responses from the providers will be electronic using the NHIN.

June 16, 2010 - Maryland-based QSSI was awarded an additional task order on the National Level Repository (NLR) Testing contract by the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). QSSI will perform ongoing Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health (HITECH) NLR maintenance release testing. QSSI will conduct testing on two annual maintenance releases per year, supporting both new functionality and system enhancements.
May 18, 2010 - The South Carolina Department of Commerce and the Central SC Alliance today announced that Quality Software Services Inc. (QSSI) will locate its new facility in Richland County. The $480,000 investment is expected to generate 70 new jobs.
April 30, 2010 - Maryland-based Quality Software Services, Inc (QSSI) was awarded a prime contract with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) to perform independent validation and performance testing of the HITECH National Level Repository (NLR). The goal of the NLR is to collect information on all eligible providers and hospitals, process and deliver incentive payments, to prevent duplicate payments, and coordinate technical assistance and reporting. QSSI personnel manage and perform functional acceptance testing, performance and stress testing, end-to-end testing with other systems and contractors, as well as regression testing.

February 10, 2010 - Quality Software Services, Inc (QSSI) moved its corporate headquarters to a fantastic new site in Columbia, Maryland. The goal of the move was for QSSI to create a large "central hub" for employees and increase staff collaboration. The over 20,000 square foot facility is beautifully designed and truly reflects the position of QSSI as a rapidly growing company.

October 25, 2009 - Maryland-based Quality Software Services, Inc (QSSI) was recently awarded a prime contract with the Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to provide technical support services for the Public and Indian Housing, Real Estate Assessment Center (PIH-REAC) Physical Assessment Subsystem (PASS) effort. QSSI will be responsible for providing system development, maintenance, operations and technical support services for the existing PASS system in ColdFusion and SQL, as well as the development of the new system using Java and Oracle.
October 1, 2009 - Maryland-based QSSI, in partnership with Mimic Technologies, Inc. (Mimic), was awarded a contract under the Department of Defense (DoD), Army Branch, Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) Program to provide automated support of its robotic surgical training, operations, and outcomes initiative. This contract is focused on the development of an automated system that collects and analyzes diverse data on robotic surgery training tasks; identifies variances in operative care; and provides clinically relevant decision support to improve performance and outcomes.
September 30, 2009 - Maryland-based Quality Software Services, Inc (QSSI) was recently award a prime contract for the Single Testing Contract (STC) with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services to provide independent testing services under the CMS Enterprise Services Delivery (ESD) model. The CMS ESD model separates the development, maintenance, and testing of major applications into three independent contracts. Award of the STC contract to QSSI marks the largest single award for testing under the ESD model.
September 15, 2009 - Maryland-based Quality Software Services, Inc (QSSI) was recently awarded a prime contract with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) to provide technical help desk services for the Customer Support for Medicare Modernization (CSMM) effort. QSSI will be responsible for providing customer support to business partners and external entities across the country that have a contractual relationship with CMS to exchange data/access Medicare Part C/D information systems.
June 17, 2009 - QSSI is pleased to announce that Mr. Seth Edlavitch was selected to participate in the Certification Commission for Health Information Technology's (CCHIT®) Personal Health Records Work Group for the upcoming certification development cycle. Mr. Edlavitch will join other industry leaders as a volunteer to support the CCHIT® mission to "accelerate the adoption of robust, interoperable health information technology by creating a credible, efficient certification process". Mr. Edlavitch leads the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Personal Health Record, South Carolina (MyPHRSC) project as QSSI's Project Director.
January 05, 2009 - QSSI is pleased to announce that it has provided key support to the IAC in briefing the Obama Transition Team on important IT issues such as Identity and Access Management. On December 12, the IAC Transition Study Group (TSG) met with a cross-section of the members in President-Elect Obama's Transition team. The transition team is beginning the outreach process to key IT groups. In recognition of the value provided by IAC, IAC was the first IT organization with which they met.

October 15, 2008 - Maryland-based Quality Software Services, Inc (QSSI) was recently award a prime contract with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services to provide independent testing services for the Medicare Beneficiary Database Suite of Services (MBDSS) under the CMS Enterprise Services Delivery (ESD) model. The CMS ESD model separates the development, maintenance, and testing of major applications into three independent contracts. MBDSS is the first major application to be awarded under this ESD model.
October 8, 2008 - QSSI is pleased to announce that the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) is expanding the South Carolina Personal Health Record pilot (MyPHRSC) to include TRICARE health data (CMS Press Release). TRICARE is the Department of Defense's (DoD) worldwide health care program for uniformed service members and their families.
August 1, 2008 – QSSI is pleased to announce that it has been successfully appraised as a CMMI® Maturity Level 3 organization effective August 1, 2008. A CMMI-DEV SCAMPI Class-A appraisal was performed by a team of independent SEI-trained and authorized CMMI® appraisers led by a SCAMPI Lead Appraiser. The appraisal team concluded that QSSI has implemented a disciplined process to manage, monitor and control its IT projects.
April 16 , 2008 – QSSI is pleased to announce the launch of a Personal Health Record (PHR) pilot project for Medicare beneficiaries in South Carolina. Called My Personal Health Record, South Carolina (MyPHRSC) the project gives people with Medicare access to an electronic Personal Health Record containing the last 2 years of their Medicare claims data.
